Alcide J. Tervalon, Jr., CPAAlcide (“Al”) J. Tervalon, Jr. is Administrative Partner and is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions at Bruno & Tervalon LLP. After proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps, Mr. Tervalon attended Xavier University of Louisiana and graduated magna cum laude in 1975, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1975 where he served a wide variety of corporate clients ranging from large, publicly-held to smaller, closely-owned companies. In 1978 he joined Michael B. Bruno, Certified Public Accountant and together they developed the firm of Bruno & Tervalon LLP.

Mr. Tervalon is a Certified Public Accountant in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. As a member of the New Orleans Chapter of the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants he served on the Governmental Auditing and Accounting Committee. He also served as a Trustee for the Employees’ Retirement System of the City of New Orleans and as National Treasurer of Beta Rho Omega National Professional Business Fraternity. Mr. Tervalon is a past president of the New Orleans Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants and served as a Board member of the St. Mark’s Community Center and Chairman of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Minority Recruitment and Equal Opportunity Committee. Alcide is also a member of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and the Government Finance Officers Associations (GFOA).

He has an extensive background in auditing governmental grants and agencies, non-profit entities, credit unions, and other financial entities.
